Monthly Self-Care Workshop - Nurturing yourself, inside and out!

  • Balanced Living Nutrition Astoria, NY (map)

This is a monthly. recurring workshop series where we will continuously explore how to nurture our mind, body and spirit. Our first series, called “Nurturing yourself, inside and out” will teach you how to use nutrient-rich, wholesome ingredients to cook both a healthy, balanced meal and make a natural skincare product.

We all know that eating healthy, natural wholefoods provides us with the nutrients we need to maintain a healthy body. What we may not know, however, is that the same ingredients that are nourishing to our body from the inside-out can also be nourishing to our skin from the outside-in.

In this workshop we will focus on a holistic approach to beauty and wellness. We will demonstrate how you can incorporate the same common kitchen ingredients you use to make a wholesome and nutritious meal into your daily skincare regime. We will describe how using natural and organic skincare products is equally as important as eating organic foods since a lot of the ingredients in your skincare products are absorbed into your body.

Why does this matter?

Your skin is the largest organ of your body and your first line of defense against disease. Research has shown that many of the creams that are applied onto your skin on the outside get absorbed into your body. In this class we will show you how natural, wholesome ingredients that are nourishing to eat can also be nourishing to your skin. By using DIY natural skincare, you can avoid the synthetic and sometimes harmful ingredients that may be present in conventional skincare products. Furthermore, natural skincare offers you enriching ingredients that are not only moisturizing but nutritious and regenerative as well. This will be a hands-on workshop where will demonstrate simple, do-it-yourself nourishing recipes that you can easily incorporated into your daily, healthy-living regime.

*All workshops will be remote. Login information will be sent before class begins.
